I found this guy hanging out in a mechanical room that I worked in today. Brings a smile to my face to see things like this. Someone took the time to make this. I want to go surf now.

I’ve been contemplating what I should be doing with my small portion of the interweb. I had all the intentions of using this space to post up projects that I’ve been working on. Mostly, I wanted to use it as a way to showcase my Photography. Not that I’ve been lacking subjects to shoot, I’ve been lacking motivation to get out and take photos.
I need to come to grips that its out of sheer laziness that ErikAllas.com has become a stagnant piece of the internet.
On other news, I have departed my Seattle home in favor of a much larger one in the suburbs, I have been without internet for almost a month now but gave discovered the wordpress app for my phone. No more makimg excuses, its put up or shut up time.
I have decided that this site will no longer be a site to showcase my photo work. The content will be changing to my personal special interests. I will still blog about skating and photo projects on here, the content will no longer be limited to that. Nothing off limits here. You’ll read about cigars, cars, motorcycles, working out, and from time to time, my own mindless random rambles.
Any chance I get to shoot with Aaron Feinberg I jump at it. This shot was taken over Barn Burner weekend back in March. Being one of the nicer weekends we had all year, we actually were able to get out of the Skatebarn and do some damage on the streets.
This was one of those shots where the differences in angles had certain tradeoffs. I could have shot it long and showed how big the drop was. Instead, I chose to shoot this from the top of the obstacle to show how skinny the ledge was. While you loose the wow factor of the drop, I felt that you can really appreciate the skill involved in the trick.
Aaron is the definition of a true professional skater, getting me contacts to his sponsors and anybody interested in using his photos.
This batch of photos ended up in the hands of Kaltik frames based out of Ireland. Frames that Aaron states are the best frames that he’s ever skated. Thats saying a lot from the likes of Aaron.
For more information on Kaltik frames visit their website @ www.kaltikrolling.com

Some of the scribblings and photos were featured on the ONE Magazine website. I did some event coverage for a local contest called Street Battle Seattle. You can read the article and preview the photos at: http://www.believeinone.com/?p=739 Read the rest of this entry »
Well my last update on the site hasn’t been since April. ErikAllas.com has been neglected, and to those that are actually following my site and photo work, I sincerely apologize for not having updated sooner.
There have been some life changing events that have happened in the last several months that have put photography, amongst other things on the back burner.
On June 12th, I married my long time girlfriend Rothana Main. I proposed to her on New Years of 2009. We were married at Parson Gardens on Queen Anne. The park is located just a block away from Kerry Park. Kerry is where many of my Seattle photos have been taken. The time leading up to the wedding and after, I had taken a break from any photo work. It’s not that I haven’t been taking any photos, it’s just I wasn’t taking any photos pertaining to the photography business or had anything to do with skating. I’ve been happily immersed in newlywed bliss. I love my wife, my life, and I can’t remember a time when I’ve been happier.
In other life changing events, the end of July I began a new career at the University of Washington as an Industrial Hygienist, I’ll be supporting the Facilities Department performing health and safety related work.
Now that things are back to routine and I’m finding myself with a bit more time on my hands. I can finally devote more time to getting out taking more photos, and writing a bit more. With that said, I’m back behind the lens and keyboard. I’ve made some new media contacts and have amassed somewhat of a decent size back stock of skating snaps that I’ll be sending out in the next couple of weeks as well as some new ideas for updating the site.
Stay tuned!
This is the second part of my favorite blade photos. In an effort to keep this site active, I’ve dug through an archive of previous skate photos taken from various sessions, contests, and miscellaneous skate gatherings.

Several weeks ago I made a site update with a bunch of links to online magazines that have run my blade photos. I never got a chance to write any specifics on my favorites and I figured what better time to do so than the present.
This shot was the first of many that I would be taking of Aaron. I originally was trying to do a sequence shot of a 540 he was doing over the center mini-quarter. He surprised me by riding to the top and cess-sliding all the way down a 15 foot vert wall. Prior to this, Aaron had not skated for several months.
Its official! Erik Allas Photography is proud to be the official photographer for Street Battle Seattle 2010.
I’ve been to several of these events over the last 10 years. They have been great events! Street Battle brings out the top pro’s and am’s in the region, and sets the standard on how street contests should be put on.
The contest is put on every year by my good friend Jeremy Townsend. In spite of the many rumors, Jeremy is a really nice guy! If it wasn’t for Jeremy, I wouldn’t be photographing rollerblading. He’s kept me juiced and motivated over the years to not only rollerblade, but use my skills as a photographer to promote the sport. Jeremy puts in a lot of time and effort into getting sponsors, organizing, promoting, and planning spots for the event. I encourage everyone on rollerblades to do their part by pre-registering, donating, and spreading the word on this great event. We don’t get very many events like this a year, lets make SBS 10 a great contest.
Come check out www.streetbattleseattle.com! At the website you can find more info on the event, where you can stay in Seattle, watch edits of previous events, register for the contest, links to the sponsors, and buy event swag.
Support rollerblading.
Over the last several weeks myself a handful of skaters and videographer Jonathan Roulstan have been hard at work taking photos and getting clips of former world champion and X-Games medalist Aaron Feinberg. It’s been a wild last couple of weekends getting pictures for his sponsors and building a good photo stock of Aaron.
